Rabbi v Monk

Image
In the BLUE CORNER  we have Rabbi Michael Skobac of Jews for Judaism  proclaiming that the Pauline influence on early Christianity, although helping to spread the new faith across the globe (to the gentile), wrongly taught that Jesus was God and that salvation came through the Cross; and doing away with the Law. And in the RED CORNER is Brother Nathanael who left Judaism to become a Christian Orthodox  monk.

Ready or Not

St. Malachi, a medieval Irish priest, allegedly made a famous prophecy regarding the Popes. If Saint Malachi was right, could it be that this, the 112th Pope, fits the definition for the False Prophet of the Bible. The false prophet is one (the religious) member of a duo - the other, identified by the Bible as the political member, or the Antichrist. Between the two of them, according to the Bible, they will usher in the New World Order. How long will the current Pope reign? Five, ten,... 20 years? Given St Malachi's revelation, by a matter of course the Antichrist would have declared themselves (and the tribulation begun) within the next decade or so. The good news is that 7 years after that, Jesus Christ returns. According to the Bible this time he's coming not as a lamb but a Lion. Are you ready?

On the night of 30 June 2009, 82% of the Territory’s prison population were Indigenous

Contrary to popular belief, inmates are people too. The Territory, Australia’s Northern Territory, is a law unto itself; literally. It is the equivalent of America’s Wild West, if you will. Perhaps not surprising then is that 6.5 of every 1,000 adults are imprisoned there compared to the national average of 1.7. Of course it’s no news that imprisonment and Australia go hand-in-hand. They always have. 41% of Territorian prisoners are locked-up for ‘Acts intended to cause injury’ and 12% for sexual assault and related offences. As of 2008-09, the average daily inmate population had reached 1030. Of those, 848 (82%) were Indigenous Australians. That is a rate of 22 per 1,000 aborigines incarcerated in the NT – less than the national average. For the decade up to 2002-03 the majority of foreign national prisoners held in NT correctional institutions were classified as “people smugglers”. Most of the others are so-called “illegal foreign fisher” people. The Northern Territory also has ...

Har Megiddo

Image
Saying "Armageddon" has such impact: instantly evoking an ominous sense of foreboding and apocalyptic imagery of the end of the world. The word derives from the Hebrew Har Megiddo,  which directly translates to "Mount Megiddo", which seams harmless enough. Where there's a mountain there is also a valley. Below is shown the plain at Megiddo, known as the Jezreel Valley.     A quick visit to the Israel Tourism website will tell you the central Jezreel Valley is 380 square kilometres in size, and is bounded on the north by the Nazareth mountains and Mount Tabor, on the east and south by Mount Gilboa and the mountains of Samaria respectively, and on the west by Mount Carmel.       Many have questioned the significance of a historically barren land; today however, it is considered Israel's breadbasket. Nonetheless, a number of passe...

And what of St Malachi's prophesy?

Image
According to Daniel 9:27, Revelation 13 and 17:10-18, Satan will incarnate the last pontiff who will deify himself and break Rome's covenant with the Jewish bankers. It is claimed Malachi made only 111 predictions and that the Benedictines devised pope 112 in order to dissociate their order from the "Beast" so that John Paul II's successor should be the final pope. However "Gloria olivae" resides still in Rome as Pope Emeritus, His Holiness (sic) Benedict XVI, and it appears Malachi's prophecy of popes 111 and 112 are intended to be conjoined in accordance with the two popes mentioned in Revelation 19:20, and 20:10. This scripture is reinforced by the fact Pope Benedict was the first pope to receive the Ring of St. Peter after it was re-instated by John Paul II who did not wear the ring, and contrary to custom Pope Benedict XVI did not destroy his ring but "disabled the seal" and now wears the ring contemporaneously with Pope Francis I, enjoin...

The Mark of Regret

I've just completed reading your article on tattooing and the truth of it all deeply troubled me. I am a Christian, and like most I've back-slidden several times throughout my life. During one of these times, I received two tattoos. One is a "tribal" band on my left arm, though it doesn't fully circle the whole upper-arm. The other is on my right shoulder, the letters "MSC" in cursive writing signifying the names of my best friend, his wife, and their little daughter. Even though I love my friend and his family, I deeply regret getting their initials tattooed onto my body. Moreover, I seriously and gravely regret with all my heart getting my other tattoo (the tribal band on my left arm). Being a few years older now (29 and married) there is not a day that goes by that I don't regret getting these tattoos. When I dress, I'm forced to see them in the mirror. When I shower I'm forced to see them. What makes matters worse, is that I knew all alo...

The Smiling Assassin - It Started with a Kiss

The phrase "Son of Perdition" is used twice in the bible: once to refer to the antichrist; and once to refer to Judas Iscariot. As Judas betrayed Jesus so too the Antichrist (system) will betray the church in pedalling a false religion. But just as with Judas, this false religion will be masked under the guise of a friend of Christ's. And, just as Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss, so too will the False Prophet betray the church with a kiss. Is there a wolf in sheep's clothing in the church? Is there someone who says the right things, plays the right 'part', and smiles the right smile? Is there among the church, perchance, a smiling assassin? . . . 3  Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” 4  And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5  For many will come in My name, ...

Look But Don't Touch

Image
And if that effort means asking someone if you can touch their hair so it's not something that's foreign to you anymore, ask it. Ask the question. But ask it only when you've earned the right to do so. Ask it when you've taken the time to Google some of the basic questions about black hair. Ask this five-word request when you understand that it carries the weight of hundreds of years of being told our hair is unacceptable and now being told that it's a curiosity. Ask it when you understand that enlightening you about our hair is a responsibility no one individual wants to bare. Ask it when you've actually developed a relationship with a person to the point where you don't have to doubt their response to the request. Because if you're actually friends with a person, "Can I touch your hair?" is a question you don't have to ask because you know that you can either just do it or know to steer clear. And if you don't know any black peop...

An Australian Rift

The Australian Aborigine, is, on the whole, a wonderful person, in my experience. Spend five minutes with them and see the sadness in their eyes and hear the sorrow in their voice. They are, traditionally at least, far more equitable a race than the European - perhaps legacy of a long-standing 'unspoilt' civilisation. White man's legacy; industrialisation albeit with benefits, brought the scourges of modern society: infectious diseases; non-communicable chronic disease; drugs and alcohol; chemicals, bombs, radiation, etc.. The gap between whites and blacks in this country is wider than the Rift Valley itself. But the chasm of culture and understanding is by the far the greatest problem, indeed the problem through which all others take hold. It is this inherent disconnect between white man and black man, at a fundamental human level, rather than money, science, technology, power or politics, that continues to drive a wedge between the two. The solution requires a parad...
